The Jonard Tools Mid Span Slit and Ring Tool MS-316 provides safe mid-span access to smaller fibre optic cables and buffer tubes. It is ideal for drop cables and tight-buffer constructions within the 1.2 mm to 3.3 mm diameter range and enables technicians to remove cable jackets cleanly and efficiently without damaging internal fibres or strength members.

The tool incorporates a ring-cutting blade and a slitting channel. The ring blade allows users to score the cable jacket, creating a clean break point in the outer sheath. The slitting channel then guides the blade along the cable length to produce a straight, controlled slit. This dual-function design reduces the risk of damage to the fibres.
